I am so so so excited to blog this wedding!  Monica and Dan had the most amazing wedding in Beaver Creek on Labor Day weekend.  I knew their wedding photos would be awesome after their engagement shoot last year in Vail in the snow!  And I wasn’t wrong.

The wedding,  coordinated by Victoria Hentrich was absolutely stunning, the centerpieces and flowers by Fleur de Liz were breathtaking, Laura from Glo Makeup wins the best-makeup-artist-ever award for putting Monica in the most amazing light for the getting ready photos, The Osprey hotel was easy to work with (and had a yummy alternative to the dreaded cold boxed sandwhich vendor dinner, which always wins us over!), and Monica and Dan themselves were the most gracious of hosts.  It was definitely one of those weddings that we would eagerly shoot over and over and over again if we could!

Monica was sitting in the absolute best light ever for getting ready pictures!  Between that and her incredible skin, I was in photographer heaven!

I love this shot of Dan!!

We did their portraits before the ceremony and Monica was so brave about the wind/rain (which luckily died down after a little while)!

We just about killed Monica’s poor wedding coordinator when we put them in on this hill of bushes!  We probably owe her a day at a spa over the stress of watching Monica go in there with her dress!

The ceremony was held at the Beaver Creek Chapel.

The reception at the Osprey was perfect–elegant, intimate, beautifully candle lit!

Monica and Dan, we absolutely loved photographing your wedding–thank you for trusting us so implicitly, for being such gracious hosts, and for being so easy to photograph!

Jay and Ashley held their gorgeous wedding at the Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado.  We had photographed Katy and Bryan’s wedding there the month prior, so we were excited to head back since there are so many great portrait spots!

I loved Ashley’s shoes!!!  (Nic told me while we were driving home yesterday that I should do a “shoes of 2009” blog post this winter since I’ve loved so many of them!)

Ashley and her dad were so cute walking down the aisle.  I love expressive dads!!!!  And Jay?  Jay actually said “oh wow” out loud when he saw Ashley!  It was priceless!

The ceremony was gorgeous–I love the way they lined up with the fountain behind them:

The Hudson Gardens are so fun to shoot wedding portraits at!    hudsongardensweddingphotographer06

Ashley had an amazing cake.  It was straight out of a magazine–the rainbow of butterflies, the simple white cake–definitely one of my faves of the year!

Cake cutting and first dance:

I love to watch the bride or groom’s parents dance together and enjoy the reception.  And getting an awesome shot of them dancing and singing along?  Even better!

Thanks so much Jay and Ashley for sharing your beautiful wedding with us!  You guys were a total treat to work with!!

In all the craziness of this summer I missed a wedding!  Amanda and Joe are one of those amazingly sweet and in love couples.  The rain cancelled their original plans for an outdoor ceremony, but they didn’t even care!  I’ve never seen a bride less upset about having to go with Plan B, and Joe said he was actually happy about the rain because according to folklore it means more babies for them!

Amanda goes down in history as being our first bride with some serious designer shoes.  HELLO CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN!  I was incredibly nervous to shoot them.   It was probably how it feels to photograph Oprah.  ;)

Amanda was so happy that the getting ready room was full of smiles and laughter and tears:

They are so so SO in love!!

Normally if we haven’t had an engagement shoot with a couple, the grooms are a little hesitant to begin with for portraits.  Not Joe–he totally nailed it straight out of the gate:

They had the most incredible reception I’ve ever seen.  When we walked in my jaw dropped–the lighting, the flowers, the dueling pianos…everything was AMAZING.

It’s been almost a month since they got their pictures so I’m not sure if Amanda and Joe are still blog readers, but if you guys are reading this, I’m so sorry I missed blogging your wedding!  It was such a gorgeous day and it was an honor to share it with you!  We’re so happy you love the photos and we hope you two always look at each other the way you did on your wedding day!
