I am once again behind on blog posts, but at least that means I have lots to share!  I’m diving right in with this session from last week.

Keko is a firefighter who worked on the Black Forest Fire and is therefore one of the many heroes that saved so many homes, including our own!  I’ve been offering complimentary sessions (digital files included) this summer for local firefighters and their families in appreciation for what they do for our community.  It’s something that will be an ongoing program for Real Photography, so if you know a firefighter in the area, please pass on the information.   This is just a tiny expression of our enduring gratitude for all they did and continue to do.

Kristy babysat for us when Ellie was a baby, so I was so thrilled to receive her email asking if we would photograph her wedding!  You might recognize her, because as famous as she is in our family as being a wonderful former sitter, she is much more famous as the princess at the Renaissance Festival (we love getting to see her in character each year at the children’s knighting)!  It may shock you to know, therefore, that she married none other than the VILLAIN at the festival.   You can read more about them in this article.  The wedding was beautiful, the weather did its best to cooperate in spite of the forecast, and Nic and I had a blast quietly playing ‘who’s who’ as we matched cast member wedding guests with their Renaissance Festival roles (mostly unsuccessfully–there was a lot of ‘that is definitely someone’ which really makes us about as accurate as a Colorado weather forecast).   We are so happy for Kristy and Brian and wish them oodles of happiness!

I’d been looking forward to Jason and Linsey’s wedding since their football themed engagement shoot this spring.  They are gorgeous, their children are absolutely adorable and their wedding details were stunning.  I got to start the day with amazing shoes, which always makes me happy, and we finally got to shoot a wedding ceremony at Shove Chapel here in Colorado Springs!  It was every bit as beautiful as I had heard and a blast to photograph.  Jason and Linsey are so much fun, and capturing her reaction as he surprised her with the honeymoon she didn’t think she would be having was a treat!  We’re so glad they shared their wedding day with us!

Linsey and Jason’s Wedding Details:  Ceremony – Shove Chapel  ,  Reception and Catering – The Mining Exchange Hotel  ,  Makeup – Heather Baker  , DJ – Brandon Lee  , Flowers – Shelby Pywell
