As we drove down to The Mining Exchange Wyndham hotel for Yvette and Jeff’s wedding we saw the thin plume of smoke that would become the massive Waldo Canyon Fire.\u00a0 Over the next couple of hours we kept checking the news and our phones and adjusting plans accordingly.\u00a0 We’d planned to have their first look at Garden of the Gods,\u00a0 but it was closed about an hour before we’d planned to arrive there.\u00a0 For a little while it looked like their planned ceremony in Manitou Springs would need to be moved to the hotel, as rumors of road closures and potential evacuations spread as quickly as the fire.\u00a0 They got lucky, though, and were able to have the wedding ceremony as planned at 7 Minute Springs in Manitou before the town was evacuated late that night.\u00a0 Yvette and Jeff have two of the cutest little girls in the world–it was so fun to spend the day with them!<\/p>\n
