  • Welcome to my blog!

Hi! I'm Traci. I'm a Registered Nurse who loves quilting, knitting, cross stitch, and the great outdoors. In my pre-scrubs life, I owned Real Photography, and you can still see my old wedding and portrait photography site here .

I've created a map that shows links to our camping/hiking/general family fun review posts that you can find here. It's pretty much the coolest thing on this site. Thanks, Google!

I great big puffy heart *love* comments, so please let me know you visited! I try to always reply!

I’m practicing free motion sewing on my machine.  It’s something I want to master, because I absolutely love little pieces of art like this (click on image for source):

I’ve been obsessed with bunting lately, and wanted to make a mug rug with rainbow bunting.  All of a sudden this afternoon I realized that a strand of Christmas lights would be very similar to bunting, and I had to try it out.  I’m hoping to participate in a few swaps in the coming months and want to perfect this before then!  I’m thinking a strand of red, white, and green lights would be perfect for a mug rug or pillow!

I got much better at the technique in the second practice-go (the one on the right), but I much prefer the design of the first one.  Smaller, tighter-packed bulbs will be the key, I think!

susanne - I love these lights!!

Swaps are SO fun!! : )

Mom - Cool! Love the xmas lights!

Wendi - Cute idea!

Kelly O. - these are awesome! did you end up making them into anything?
