Kristina and Shawn’s wedding was a first for me: my commute for the day was a simple elevator ride up to the fifth floor of the hotel we were living in!  Kristina and Shawn’s wedding happened in the middle of our evacuation from the Black Forest Fire and it was completely by coincidence that we ended up in the very hotel they were being married in.  Lindsay Schmidt stepped in for Nic to second shoot with me which we appreciated so much during that heavily emotional and uncertain time.  It was fantastic to work with her!  Kristina and Shawn were wonderful and gracious hosts and so sweet to me–they really went above and beyond in making sure we felt loved!  Kristina’s smile is infectious and she radiated joy.  I can’t look at the images of her smile without smiling myself!  It was such a pleasure to witness this family of five becoming official–watching the girls cry during the ceremony just about tipped me over into a sob-fest myself!  As if a wonderful family wasn’t enough, this wedding brought together some of my favorite vendors–wedding coordinator Danielle of Entwined Planning and florist Dawn of Hillside Consultants ensured that all the details were stunning.

One of our first brides (and my later BFF), Bernadette, works with Kristina, so we recreated a shot with Danielle from the photobooth at Bernadette’s first wedding, complete with the tally of the things we’ve gained since then!  I think we’re going to need to find a way to do this at a wedding again in another five years.  Thanks for letting us hijack your photobooth, Kristina!

Emily and Alex are one of the nicest couples we’ve had the privilege of photographing.  They are one of those couples that I can’t help but wish babies upon because I can tell what a fantastic family they would make!  (Emily and Alex, if you don’t want babies, I’m so sorry for wishing that you have a dozen.)  ;)  Their wedding details were just stunning, too–some of the prettiest bouquets I’ve seen and the most awesome menu, invites, thank yous, and adorable door hangers.  Lots of burlap details and they even brought their vintage style bikes (which made the most fun props)!  They are off to Alaska next and I’m so excited for them!

The hardest part of blogging this wedding has been deciding how on Earth to only include a reasonable number of photos!  Marshall and Katie’s wedding at Crooked Willow Farms in Larkspur was such an incredibly beautiful event.  Red barns, fields, boots, gorgeous fun color scheme–so my style and not at all a surprise that two of my favorite vendors were working on this stunning day:  wedding coordinator Danielle of Entwined Planning and florist Dawn of Hillside Consultants.  The bridesmaids in their yellow dresses and cowboy boots looked amazing and I loved that Katie had boots on under her wedding dress!  Katie surprised Marshall with a mariachi band at the cocktail hour and his reaction was priceless–he was the king of joy all day–his ready laugh made him catch on camera!
