Will: I have a new plan. [whispers] Want to know my new plan?
Me: Sure.
Will: I’m going to be good all year.
Me: Oh sweetie, you ARE good.
Will: No–I’m going to be good ALL year.
Me: Sweetie–you don’t have to worry.
Will: No! I have a new PLAN! I’m going to say “Hurray! It’s time for school! Hurray! It’s time for shower!” [these are actually times when he usually gets in trouble for his response, which is usually the opposite of hurray and involves a lot of whining.] “I’m going to say “This is such a yummy dinner, mommy. Thank you for making such a yummy dinner.” [this is sometimes an issue.] That’s because I made a new plan.
