  • Welcome to my blog!

Hi! I'm Traci. I'm a Registered Nurse who loves quilting, knitting, cross stitch, and the great outdoors. In my pre-scrubs life, I owned Real Photography, and you can still see my old wedding and portrait photography site here .

I've created a map that shows links to our camping/hiking/general family fun review posts that you can find here. It's pretty much the coolest thing on this site. Thanks, Google!

I great big puffy heart *love* comments, so please let me know you visited! I try to always reply!

a baby quilt for my four daughters

I finished this quilt in 2001, in my senior year of high school.  I had been collecting fat quarters in these pastels for a while and I remember being totally over-the-moon that I used up almost every scrap.  I was sure that I was going to grow up and have four girls, and that this would be their treasured baby quilt.

When Will was born I put it at the foot of his bed anyway.

He was a funny kid–he didn’t have a particular blankie or lovie, he just liked a LOT of quilts.  Every night he would get tucked in under about 5 different quilts at his insistence (they would all get kicked off).  This was one of them.

Luckily Ellie came along or he’d still be sleeping under it. and all of its girly awesomeness.

Will has friends over.  I love that he’s not too old to come to me for a hug when his feelings are hurt.  In a few years I know if I even LOOK at him he’ll be all “MAAHHHM.  Stop.  Embarrassing.  Me.”
