We had the pleasure of taking Mindy’s sister’s senior portraits on Friday. We did a combined engagement and senior portrait shoot (Andrea drove down from Denver with Mindy and Brett), and it was fantastic that it worked out that way, because Nic got to take some senior portraits, too! (Normally I fly solo on senior shoots.)

Here’s one of his fantastic shots of Andrea (we spent some quality time under this tree escaping the rain):

Another “hide from the rain” strategy!

Andrea is so cute and fun, I knew we needed a trip to the orange wall. (Don’t get me started on how jealous I am that Andrea can run around in drizzle for an hour and still have hair that looks this good!)

Manitou Springs has so many hidden spots:

This is my favorite. Check out that light! (Kudos go to Nic for being Reflector Master on this one.)

Thanks again, Andrea, for being so easy to photograph! We hope you enjoy your senior year!

Whew!  We’re entering into our busiest two month stretch, so forgive us if sneak peeks or email replies aren’t as lightning fast as they have been in the past!  (Or if the bags under my eyes resemble small black holes threatening to sdevour my entire face.)  I should also take this opportunity to mention that I do plan on bringing back Photoshop Friday and Photography Tip Tuesdays–they will be wedding off-season regulars (looking at our schedule now, I’d say they will make their return in November).   And while I’m totally off topic, if anyone wants to talk Breaking Dawn with me, I’m dying to discuss it with someone since my lame sister won’t answer her phone.

Now with the admin announcement out of the way, I can share pictures of the gorgeous Hilary, who chose to have her senior portraits around Manitou Springs.  Hilary and her mother and brother were completely fantastic, and I loved spending the evening with them!

Hilary has the cutest smile!

She was totally rocking the bright pink!

The weather was conspiring against us for Jack’s senior portraits (it started to downpour just as we arrived), so we raced to relocate his session to Palmer Park (where we didn’t see a drop of rain–gotta love Colorado Spring’s isolated showers)!

Jack is an amazing guy and if I had a teenage daughter (or even a toddler daughter) I’m pretty sure I would have arranged their marriage on the spot.

Jack’s gorgeous sister was the unofficial stylist of the shoot and so we got some shots of them together:

Jack carried her up a rock since platform shoes aren’t really made for rock climbing and I got some of my favorite pictures from the shoot out of it!

After the storm had passed, we made our way back to Manitou Springs for some shots at spots they’d seen while having lunch that day. I wanted to stop at some abandoned train cars Nic and I spotted last week:
