While in Seattle earlier this month, my aunt asked if I’d photograph their family.  Of course!  Because of our tight timing, we ended up doing the shoot immediately after JJ’s 8th birthday party at my grandpa’s pool.  This is not generally recommended for anyone under 30, but the kids did really well, and their parents managed not to kill them under the stress (I can’t say I would have done as well under the circumstances!).  Gretchen picked the most perfect location–I could tell she knew what I like when she mentioned that the spot had lots of tall weeds!

Laura and Ken have seen these already, but I’m super excited to blog their wedding because it has some of my favorite pictures from the year so far!  Ken and Laura are adorable and welcoming and so easy to work with.  They are also so photogenic that I’m pretty sure I could have shot the entire thing on my iphone and it still would have been beautiful!

Laura and Ken didn’t get lucky with the weather, but they had the best approach to it.  They decided to do just a couple of posed shots at the hotel and spent the time allocated to portraits at a bar!  And while the wedding party was having a blast, we got AMAZING pictures of them.  I think it’s so cool that Laura and Ken got to make fun memories with their wedding party.  If you’re not into the staged stuff, I *HIGHLY* recommend spending portrait time doing something fun!  (And it helps if that something fun is in a location with twinkle lights!  ;) )

While in Seattle this month I had the privilege of doing a commercial shoot for The Eye Care Center–home of the best optometrists in Bellevue (and probably the world)!  I’m a little biased– for the last couple of years my mom has been the office manager (she’s in the photo on the bottom left), and I’ve been going to Dr Beaulaurier since my very first pair of glasses–Fisher Price brand giant magenta frames.  Here’s a little peek at a couple of the pictures from their shoot.  Dr B designed the new fame display cases–they are completely amazing!
